Job Requirements
- Frequently operate cash register
- frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs
- frequently place or remove merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet
- frequently ascend or descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock
- frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop in stock room and sales floor
- frequently communicate and exchange information with customers, managers, and coworkers accurately
- frequently move across the sales floor and stock room assisting customers and handling merchandise
- ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts and travel as required
- able to identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures
- able to remain stationary upright for 80 percent of the time
Job Qualifications
- At least 16 years old
- available to work a flexible schedule
- comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as cash registers, handheld and mobile devices
- good communicator with the ability to engage with customers
- able to handle customer interactions and potential issues or concerns courteously and professionally
- use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems
- ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training
Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers promptly
- understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing to merchandise, and offering recommendations
- engage in suggestive selling and stay informed on product availability
- promote store events and promotions to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales
- resolve customer concerns by addressing issues and offering alternative solutions to turn returns into exchanges
- communicate needs to management regarding merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback
- support team and company goals by collaborating to achieve store and company objectives
