Job Requirements
- Frequently operate cash register
- Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and places/removes merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet
- Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock
- Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop on the sales floor and in the stock room
- Frequently communicate with customers, managers, and coworkers face-to-face and by telephone
- Frequently move across the sales floor assisting customers and managing stock
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekend, overnight shifts and travel as required
- Must identify and understand email and print instructions
- Must be able to remain upright and stationary for 80 percent of the time
Job Qualifications
- At least 16 years old
- Available to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and possible overnight shifts
- Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as cash registers and mobile devices
- Good communicator with the ability to engage customers
- Able to handle customer interactions professionally and courteously
- Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems
- Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training
Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers promptly
- Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge and offering recommendations
- Promote store events and promotions to enhance customer experience
- Resolve customer concerns and turn returns into exchanges when possible
- Communicate needs to management about merchandise restocking and customer feedback
- Support team and company goals to contribute to a positive work environment
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately
