Job Requirements

  • Frequently operate cash register
  • Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place or remove merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet
  • Frequently ascend or descend ladders to retrieve and stock merchandise
  • Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop in stockroom and sales floor activities
  • Frequently communicate effectively face-to-face and on the phone with customers, managers, and coworkers
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and potential overnight shifts or travel
  • Able to identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, schedules, and procedures
  • Ability to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80 percent of the time

Job Qualifications

  • At least 16 years old
  • Available to work a flexible schedule
  • Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as cash registers and mobile devices
  • Good communicator with the ability to engage customers
  • Able to handle customer interactions and potential concerns courteously and professionally
  • Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems
  • Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job training

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist customers promptly
  • Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge and offering recommendations
  • Promote store events and promotions to enhance shopping experience and drive sales
  • Resolve customer concerns by offering alternative solutions and turning returns into exchanges when possible
  • Communicate needs to management regarding restocking and customer feedback
  • Support team and company goals by collaborating with associates and maintaining a positive work environment
