Job Requirements
- Ability to frequently operate cash register
- Ability to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place or remove merchandise up to 5-10 feet high
- Ability to frequently ascend and descend ladders for stock retrieval and placement
- Ability to frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop in the stock room and sales floor
- Ability to frequently communicate effectively with customers, managers, and coworkers face-to-face and by telephone
- Ability to move across sales floor and stock room assisting customers and handling merchandise
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and possibly overnight shifts and travel as required
- Ability to identify and understand written and email instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures
- Ability to remain stationary and upright for 80% of the shift
Job Qualifications
- At least 16 years old
- Available to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and possibly overnight shifts
- Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as cash registers and mobile devices
- Good communication skills with ability to engage customers
- Able to handle customer interactions and concerns courteously and professionally
- Basic problem-solving skills using information gathering
- Ability to learn new procedures through on-the-job training
Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers promptly
- Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing them to merchandise, and offering recommendations
- Promote store events and promotions to enhance shopping experience and drive sales
- Resolve customer concerns using product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges
- Communicate needs and feedback to management regularly
- Support team and company goals through collaboration
- Operate cash register and handle merchandise, including moving, stocking, and retrieving items
