Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years of relevant experience in restaurant sales, event planning, or food and beverage industry
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs occasionally
  • Proficient in computer software including G-Suite, restaurant management software, and POS systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of event coordination and sales practices

Job Qualifications

  • One to three years of restaurant sales or event planning and/or food and beverage experience preferred
  • Understanding of menu selections, pricing, and kitchen procedures
  • Excellent record of job and attendance performance
  • Familiar with the industry's best practices
  • Basic working knowledge of various computer software programs (G-Suite, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs. occasionally
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • High energy, positive personality
  • Cold calling, networking and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills, can-do and positive attitude with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a changing work environment

Job Duties

  • Direct reports to the VP of Group Sales and Events and alongside Front and Back of House management
  • Oversee opening and closing duties are completed correctly and that cleanliness and maintenance are maintained 100 percent of the time when required
  • Inventory and maintenance of par levels for banquet items
  • Providing excellent customer service to guests and excellent leadership to reporting employees
  • Handle any guest complaints according to provided guidelines
  • Prepare monthly and annual sales reports
  • Book and facilitate site tours
  • Work closely with the Back of House and Front of House Management to provide a seamless experience
  • Solicit and promote special event business through advertising, cold-calling, contacting past customers, relationships with local businesses and other cost-effective activities
  • Negotiate final pricing, prepare invoices and secure customer signatures
  • Collect deposits as required at least 14 days before the event
  • Support the VP of Sales and Events to maintain an updated and detailed price sheet of all billable products and services that accurately reflects today's costs and the company's profit objectives
  • Obtain all specifications and pertinent information concerning the event, including but not limited to, event date, time, duration, headcount, and menu
  • Ensure that documentation and confirmation is achieved during final arrangements with clients to then provide a solid handoff to the Event Banquet Lead to take over until the event has ended
  • Regularly review upcoming events' function sheet and have a thorough understanding of all requirements on upcoming scheduled events
  • Coordinate services for events, such as signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security
  • Requisition or obtain equipment and supplies needed for each event, ensuring that they meet customer expectations and requirements
  • Direct administrative details such as financial operations, dissemination of promotional materials, and responses to inquiries
  • Confer with Lead Banquet Server and/or Event Coordinator to synchronize event set up details and staffing
  • Ensure an inspection of the event room/area prior to the start of each function (check room setup, menu, service staff, etc.) to be sure it conforms to the function sheet when needed
  • Maintain records of event aspects, including financial details
  • Monitor event activities (on or off site) to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, satisfaction of customers, and resolution of any problems that arise
  • Provide a high level of communication of event details including group size, menu items and other pertinent details with the Front and Back of House management team
  • Must be available to work extended hours when helping finalize event details and may be required to be available evenings and weekends
  • Must wear appropriate attire for administrative days and banquet events
  • All other duties as assigned, including adhering to all Company policies, procedures, and core values
