Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • some event planning, hospitality, marketing, or public relations experience
  • valid U.S. driver's license
  • minimum age of 19 years at time of hire
  • acceptable Motor Vehicle Report in compliance with university policies
  • willingness to work periodic evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • current University of Alabama employee status
  • ability to pass pre-employment background check

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • experience in event planning, hospitality, marketing, or public relations
  • highly developed interpersonal skills
  • ability to work periodic evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • preferred experience in hotel, resort, or conference center for higher education or similar organization
  • experience with account management, event reservation software, and CRM

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate meetings and events at the Bryant Conference Center
  • assess client needs and negotiate campus arrangements
  • develop creative solutions for space limitations and budget constraints
  • facilitate details of clients' events
  • develop and administer noncredit programs delivered by the Bryant Conference Center
  • work effectively with a variety of client groups, university personnel, and faculty
  • communicate proficiently in written, verbal, and electronic forms
