Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of hospitality sales experience
  • Knowledge and expertise in sales and/or event management
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail with effective business correspondence
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • Strong personal skills including time management, planning, and decision making
  • Mathematical operations proficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to research and stay current on industry trends
  • Willingness to travel including overnight stays and client entertainment

Job Duties

  • Meet and exceed sales goals of assigned market segments
  • Achieve revenue goals through sales plans, client development, and networking
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in sales and events database
  • Report weekly achievements and adjust goals based on market conditions
  • Solicit and secure new business through outside sales calls
  • Participate in trade shows, promotional and industry events
  • Conduct site inspections and client presentations
  • Respond to inbound RFPs within 24 hours
  • Negotiate and close client contracts effectively
  • Differentiate hotel offerings and implement sales strategies to maximize market share
  • Obtain necessary event information, including setups, food and beverage, and AV requirements
  • Act as liaison between operations and clients
  • Monitor client satisfaction during event planning and execution
  • Prepare and distribute event orders, resumes, and diagrams
  • Conduct pre-event meetings with property departments
  • Manage accounts and follow up for future business
  • Achieve assigned goals and maximize time management efficiency
  • Forecast revenue for assigned groups
  • Maintain open communication and positive relationships with all departments and clients
  • Comply with accounting standards and confirm accurate billing
  • Develop knowledge of policies and attend required meetings
  • Adhere to company policies and achieve client satisfaction goals
