Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • English language both written and spoken
  • proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • perform job functions with attention to detail, accuracy and speed to meet deadlines
  • multi-task prioritizes, organize, delegate work and follow through
  • analyze and resolve problems
  • knowledge of market trends, competition and key customers of the hotel
  • flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • light work involving up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
  • ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • ability to communicate clearly
  • ability to travel if needed
  • make sound judgments quickly
  • work on multiple tasks making progress towards deadlines
  • able to work independently, take direction and provide direction to others
  • manage differing personalities within the office, hotel, and community
  • maintain the highest degree of confidentiality
  • ability to work effectively in stressful, high pressure situations
  • ability to handle workplace challenges including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems
  • associate degree from 2 year college and/or two to three years of related experience or training is a plus
  • hotel management and reservations training desired
  • proficiency in Marriott CI/TY, MARSHA or LightSpeed systems is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • proficiency in English language both written and spoken
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize, and delegate work
  • strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • knowledge of market trends, competition, and key customers
  • experience in hospitality or sales support preferred
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • familiarity with hotel sales systems such as Marriott CI/TY, MARSHA, or LightSpeed is a plus
  • associate degree or equivalent education and experience is beneficial

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • comply with all company standards and safety regulations
  • maintain sales files in an organized manner
  • type and process contracts, proposals, memos, and correspondence
  • answer phones and record messages for sales staff
  • qualify and respond to incoming inquiry calls professionally
  • assist managers on creative projects including proposals and special events
  • maintain timely and effective communication within and across departments
  • assist guests and clients with requests and complete necessary paperwork
  • meet with walk-ins if sales team unavailable
  • enter group leads, build opportunities, and provide quotes in system
  • manage thank you letters for groups and distribute accordingly
  • monitor and order office supplies and sales collateral
  • organize in-house deliveries and amenities
  • coordinate and prepare event orders for special events
  • uphold strict confidentiality on company matters
  • represent the hotel in absence of Director of Sales
  • perform other assigned management duties
  • follow company mission statement and values
  • understand guest needs and ensure guest satisfaction
