Job Description
The Sales and Events Coordinator role is a vital position within the hotel's sales team. This role is designed for a professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving sales and coordinating events that meet and exceed budgeted revenue goals. Job Requirements
- Minimum high school education
- Some college preferred
- Previous sales and marketing experience in hotel industry
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience in budgeting and meeting revenue goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use Delphi Sales and Catering software or similar systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Availability to attend local events and meetings
- Successful completion of background check and drug test
Job Qualifications
- Minimum high school education, some college preferred
- Previous sales and marketing experience with customer service skills in the hotel industry
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships, meeting budgeted revenue and sales goals
- Knowledge of marketing, planning, and negotiation
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write business correspondence and set up contracts and function sheets
- Ability to professionally present promotional materials and communicate effectively with catering, kitchen, hotel staff, and vendors
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts for customer catering contracts
Job Duties
- Achieve sales revenue objectives through sales calls including prospecting, maintenance, follow-up, inside, outside, and cold calls
- Conduct site visits such as breakfast, lunch, dinner meetings
- Attend local and membership events including Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureau, GaBTA to maintain and develop accounts
- Implement and execute approved sales action plans
- Manage and direct sales activities to meet or exceed budgeted revenue per available room goals
- Identify major revenue opportunities and secure business
- Maintain sales volume and stay current with market trends and competitors
- Maintain accurate client information and communication by completing database backups
- Attend weekly staff and BEO meetings and prepare associated documents
- Generate weekly and monthly sales department reports timely
- Maintain sales office supplies and inventory, anticipate and order needed supplies within budget
- Continuously improve professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and community events
- Contribute to team efforts for achieving budget, customer service scores, and quality assurance goals
- Perform other duties and special projects as requested
