Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in hospitality, sales, or event coordination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in hospitality sales or event coordination preferred
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and property management systems
  • Excellent communication skills through phone, email, and print
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with guests and internal hotel departments
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Serve as the point of contact for clients and communicate with them by phone and email to respond to questions and requests
  • Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding guest satisfaction
  • Assist the sales team with preparing proposals, generating contracts, creating promotional materials and presentations
  • Negotiate contracts for small meetings from inquiry through execution and follow up
  • Provide highest levels of customer service to internal partners and external clients to ensure successful experiences and garner repeat and referral business
  • Respond in a quick, timely, and professional manner to all internal and external communications
  • Manage follow up on inquiries for small meetings/events with or without guestrooms
  • Negotiate banquet event orders, identify and price customer needs, up-sell and close sales with customer deposits and signatures
  • Communicate group details and changes to all hotel departments to meet customer expectations and ensure operational efficiency
  • Present potential business at sales meetings to determine the best customer mix and conduct client and hotel staff meetings to align event plans
  • Finalize and detail catering plans for groups and orchestrate functions on-site, empowered to resolve issues
  • Develop best practices for prospecting new banquet business using various methods including phone, outside calls, trade shows, and partnerships
  • Monitor blocked space and sleeping room blocks to ensure groups meet contractual obligations and handle release of unused blocks
  • Assist sales team with calendar management, document organization, and weekly tasks
  • Communicate guest arrival details with hotel departments and key partners
  • Gain knowledge of the hotel’s food and beverage products, pricing, presentation, function space, and audio-visual resources to support event success
  • Perform other duties as assigned
