Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety and health-related field preferred
  • Equivalent relevant experience accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Knowledge of federal, state, local and company safety regulations
  • Proficiency in safety management software and tools
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to recognize and correct hazardous situations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Proficiency in construction technology
  • Ability to work accurately and timely

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health-related field preferred
  • Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience required
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proficiency in company safety software and tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to enforce all relevant federal, state, local, and company safety regulations
  • Skilled in recognizing hazards and implementing corrective measures
  • Proficient in required construction technology
  • Effective in building relationships and collaborating with internal and external teams

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects
  • Conduct regular construction site inspections to ensure legal and company policy compliance
  • Perform safety audits by identifying, documenting, and recommending hazard abatements
  • Deliver project-specific new hire safety orientation and oversee drug and alcohol policy compliance
  • Monitor implementation of prime contractor and subcontractor safety programs
  • Attend project meetings to discuss safety-related matters and chair safety committees
  • Aid in accident investigations, determine root causes, and recommend process improvements
  • Coordinate treatment and return-to-work processes for injured employees
  • Monitor site safety incentive program effectiveness
  • Utilize safety management systems to perform trend analysis and offer future risk mitigation recommendations
  • Provide guidance and training on basic and intermediate safety topics
  • Assist safety leadership during insurance audits
  • Oversee safety on more complex projects including large-scale and multiple projects concurrently
