Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related safety or safety engineering disciplines
- Five to seven years’ experience in vehicle maintenance or vehicle engineering
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, FRA, FTA, NFPA, and PennDOT regulations
- Ability to multitask and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong understanding of union and management environments
- Ability to address health and safety matters directly with union employees
- Ability to analyze accident data and develop corrective plans
- Ability to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent verbal and technical writing skills

Job Duties
- Facilitates and assists audits of authority&rsquo
- s operational systems conducted by regulatory bodies
- Implements and facilitates activities required by federal transit and railroad regulations
- Inspects operations and equipment for compliance with regulatory standards
- Develops and executes audit protocols to assess compliance with operational safety programs
- Assesses compliance with various safety regulations and coordinates with regulatory agencies
- Reviews vehicle engineering documents and conducts vehicle maintenance audits
- Investigates incidents and accidents involving rail and automotive equipment
- Develops and manages vehicle inspection and maintenance audit programs
- Serves as liaison with authorities on rail and vehicle safety issues
