Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong multitasking ability
  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in public transportation industry preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, safety management, operations management, emergency management, transportation, business management, quality management, or systems management preferred
  • Five years of experience in system safety, transportation operations or maintenance, project management, or engineering
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Preferred experience in public transportation operations
  • Ability to perform and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • USDOT TSI Safety and Security Program certificate preferred
  • FTA Public Transportation Safety Certification Training Program certification preferred
  • Knowledge of DHS HSEEP
  • Knowledge of Military Standard 882
  • Experience in transit safety and security
  • Familiarity with FTA Safety and Security Certification Handbook

Job Duties

  • Facilitates and assists audits of Authority’s operational systems conducted by regulatory authorities
  • Implements and facilitates compliance activities as required by federal regulations for FTA and FRA
  • Inspects Authority operations and equipment to ensure regulatory compliance and recommends safety program enhancements
  • Conducts compliance audits of operational rules and practices and provides safety support
  • Develops and executes audit protocols assessing compliance in operational training and maintenance
  • Assesses compliance with various regulations and coordinates with regulatory and emergency personnel
  • Reviews accident and incident trends and develops programs to improve safety
  • Develops, updates, and evaluates compliance with operational safety programs
