Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferably in occupational health and safety or related healthcare field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in healthcare settings related to environment of care, occupational health and safety, or life safety
- Experience conducting safety compliance surveys within healthcare environments

- Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and Life Safety Code
- Proven ability to develop and implement safety and emergency management policies
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and committees
- Competency in hazard vulnerability analysis and emergency preparedness planning
Job Duties
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Environment of Care (EOC) and Joint Commission standards ensuring compliance
- Oversee and update EOC management plans and related policies and procedures
- Manage documentation for Joint Commission and Life Safety Code practices and coordinate resolution of deficiencies
- Coordinate maintenance and construction activities with Infection Prevention team
- Conduct safety inspections, ongoing hazard surveillance, and ensure implementation of corrective actions
- Develop and provide safety training for personnel related to EOC topics including fire prevention and hazardous materials handling
- Manage hazardous waste processes including reporting, inspections, storage, and disposal
- Provide guidance for departmental emergency training and preparedness activities
- Lead the hospital response Decontamination Team and ensure availability of necessary equipment
- Manage development and review of emergency management policies
- Maintain accurate records of drills, critiques, meetings, and real events
- Educate and manage disaster response and emergency management plans across all facilities
- Design and implement emergency management plans including disaster drills, hazard vulnerability analysis, and sustainability plans
- Report and present EOC and emergency management updates to the Governing Board of Directors
