Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
- minimum 7 years of safety experience
- CHST, ASP or equivalent safety certification
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training
- ability to work onsite 5 days per week in New York, NY metro area
- ability to travel regionally
- experience in bridge, rail or tunnel projects preferred
- strong communication and collaboration skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
- CHST, ASP or equivalent safety designation
- minimum of 7-10 years of safety experience in related industry
- bridge, rail and tunnel experience preferred
- minimum of seven years of EH&S inspector experience in Water Supply or Wastewater sector
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training certification
- OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer certification preferred
- experience with transit, subway rail or regional railroad systems preferred
Job Duties
- Provide division support regarding strategic planning, program development and enforcement, safety staff resourcing and safety budget's needs
- apply STV's policies, procedures and work practices to promote the company and project safety and health program and administer assigned functions to aid in this overall responsibility
- monitor compliance with mandatory safety, health and environmental regulatory laws, standards and codes
- monitor and audit the programmatic elements of STV's HSE management system
- participate in the investigation of injuries, conditions, and incidents that do, or could involve actual or potential liability, and maintain records of pertinent data and compile the required reports
- support program evaluation and improvement efforts
- in conjunction with project managers and engineering team members, develop and initiate safety and health procedures to translate policies and regulations into effective work practices
- work collaboratively with other safety team members throughout the organization
- provide safety training as needed, and monitor compliance with STV's training curriculum and site-specific requirements including client requirements
- monitor and attend contractors' pre-construction meetings and project-related meetings
- perform other duties as assigned
- ability to travel regionally as needed
