Job Requirements

  • reside within 50 miles of Kalispell, Montana, Lewiston, Idaho, or Spokane, Washington
  • ability to travel extensively (approximately 50% of the time)
  • availability to respond to incidents any time of day and week
  • familiarity with propane operations and risks
  • strong understanding of safety regulations including OSHA, DOT, and NFPA
  • experience in safety management
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • strong communication skills
  • aptitude for computer systems and Microsoft products
  • ability to conduct training and presentations
  • ability to perform safety audits and incident investigations

Job Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • in-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations for petroleum industry
  • experience in safety management role, preferably in petroleum industry
  • strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, NFPA, and other relevant safety standards
  • experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and investigations
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to hold employees accountable for safety
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems
  • ability to speak in front of groups and enthusiasm for teaching
  • familiarity with CETP/Propane Education Program
  • ability to influence others and achieve results

Job Duties

  • Develops and implements safety policies and procedures
  • collaborates with leadership to establish safety goals and performance metrics
  • conducts safety audits, risk assessments, and process reviews
  • facilitates safety training and ensures proper documentation
  • investigates accidents, incidents, and near-misses using root cause analysis
  • manages Workers Compensation claims administration
  • participates in safety meetings and industry seminars
  • maintains and updates safety manuals and PPE guidelines
  • stops unsafe operations and activities
  • supports safety culture development
  • works on special safety projects
  • complies with federal, state, and local safety regulations
