Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- At least ten years experience managing construction projects in an environmental health and safety related area specifically on energy/oil and gas related projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a safety related discipline
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred but not required
- demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on projects of increasing complexity
- knowledge of Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)/OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills
- CPR/First Aid, Emergency Medical Technician (EMTA) certification and OSHA/MSHA instructor certifications are preferred
Job Duties
- Ensure projects are properly setup and supported to execute the safety program
- conduct project site audits to review records, permits, field conditions, safe work practices, and assess employee knowledge of safety policies and procedures
- ensure Project Safety employee is completing all their responsibilities
- ensure corporate programs and standards are executed
- lead safety business plan efforts for district
- prepare reports and game plan for every month DOR
- promote and own the safety program
- provide feedback for improvement and efficiency
- proactively visit projects to assess and work with teams to improve
- spend majority of time on projects
- mentor and identify development needs for Project Safety employees
- participate in interviewing and hiring safety professionals
- collaborate and communicate frequently with Construction Management teams
- collaborate with safety professionals across the organization
- accountable for incident management system data
- ensure projects are set up for effective treatment management
- ensure proper root cause is identified and shared
- follow any corporate, group or district protocols for incidents
