Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety/health, construction management or related field
  • relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
  • 8+ years construction safety experience
  • 0-2 years team lead or management experience
  • valid and unrestricted driver's license

  • advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • proficiency in MS Office
  • knowledge of federal, state, local and company safety regulations
  • advanced proficiency in company safety software and tools
  • ability to recognize and correct hazardous situations
  • team management skills
  • ability to build relationships and collaborate internally and externally
  • knowledge of testing protocols for environmental hazards, noise and contaminants
  • intermediate proficiency in construction technology

Job Duties

  • Manages and implements the field safety program and team for construction projects
  • communicates safety philosophies and values with safety team members and project staff to ensure compliance
  • acts as a resource for interpreting safety policies and recommendations
  • compiles accident statistics and recommends changes to safety programs
  • administers and monitors drug and alcohol testing programs
  • implements accident and incident reporting protocols
  • assists in accident investigations ensuring proper documentation and abatement
  • collaborates with insurance contacts for safety claims and monitors medical treatment for injured employees
  • conducts regular safety audits and follows up on hazard abatement
  • develops and implements training strategies and programs
  • leads and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within the company
