Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or five years of related safety leadership experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local rules, regulations, as required by OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies
- basic computer knowledge including knowledge of G-Suite
- OSHA authorized trainer qualification is preferred for both CFR 1910 and 1926
- BCSP credentialing preferred but not required
- ambitious and motivated for continual improvement
- able to lead and influence employees to achieve great results
- travel as needed throughout the Company footprint
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- experience in safety leadership roles
- knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations including OSHA, MSHA, and DOT
- leadership and coaching skills
- experience with incident investigations and safety training
- ability to communicate effectively with employees and regulatory agencies
- preferred OSHA authorized trainer qualification for CFR 1910 and 1926
- preferred BCSP credentialing
Job Duties
- Assist in the identification, analysis, and control of occupational hazards
- conduct job site and facility safety inspections and prepare reports for management
- advise and influence all employees on safety policies, best practices, and industry standards
- lead or assist in all incident investigations, compile and submit incident reports, analyze causal factors, and assist in the determination of root causes
- assist in the training of company personnel in OSHA/MSHA and industry standards for required safety training classes
- collaborate with Samsara Fleet Safety Program Manager to improve driving safety scores by enhancing employees' driving behaviors with coaching and influential leadership
- communicate and coordinate any changes in regulatory laws or project modifications to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local agencies
- analyze policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace for all employees, contractors, government representatives, and authorized visitors
- perform other duties or special projects as assigned by management
