This position is open to Veterans, Transitioning Military, members of the Guard and Reserves. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Safety Manager to join our dedicated team. Our organization specializes in maintaining and overseeing the safety protocols for the Navy's inactive ships, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and occupational health regulations. Job Requirements

  • Veteran, Transitioning Military, or member of the Guard and Reserves
  • In depth knowledge of Navy, NIOSH, NAVSEA, OSHA, EPA regulations
  • Qualified to perform lead and hazardous material surveys
  • Qualified in gas free engineering and testing procedures
  • Competent person as defined by 29 CFR 1915
  • Experience with accident investigations
  • Ability to conduct safety inspections and report findings

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Navy, NIOSH, NAVSEA, OSHA, EPA regulations
  • Qualified in gas free engineering and testing procedures
  • Experienced in hazardous material surveys
  • Competent person as defined by 29 CFR 1915
  • Experience conducting accident and injury investigations
  • Ability to author detailed safety reports
  • Familiarity with environmental and occupational safety manuals

Job Duties

  • Possess in depth knowledge of Navy, NIOSH, NAVSEA, OSHA, EPA procedures for inspections
  • Conduct lead and hazardous material surveys by current Naval Standards
  • Perform gas free engineering and testing procedures
  • Conduct near miss, accident, and injury investigations and author detailed reports
  • Administer the health program per the Safety and Health Program Plan
  • Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses for briefing
  • Monitor and survey vessels, equipment, and property for hazardous conditions and materials
