Job Requirements
- Familiarity with safety, environmental and transportation laws and regulations, and procedures
- Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies
- Understanding of conflict resolution methodologies
- Effective presentation skills
- Associate or bachelor's degree in safety or related field
- Proven progress toward completion of an AA/AS or BA/BS
- Experience working in safety management or related field
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Willingness and ability to travel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties
- Support the branch staff to evaluate their safety program, develop corrective action plans, and carry out follow-up action plans
- Evaluate status of progress toward meeting safety program objectives and initiate appropriate actions
- Assist the region at all levels with preparation and delivery of formal and informal safety training to Herc Rentals employees and customers at customer locations
- Motivate and develop field personnel to sustain Herc Rentals' safety programs across scope of operation
- Support operations management’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and expected performance of program
- Manage and communicate regulatory agency inspections or site visits to senior leadership
- Conduct and coordinate annual location safety evaluations, prepare detailed reports, assist location management with action plan development and conduct follow-up actions until complete
- Evaluate and conduct employee incident investigations and corrective actions
- Liaise with other internal departments or external organizations/relevant authorities and provide assistance concerning audits and remedial actions
- Assist in the safety requirements at location startups
- Develop personal and professional skills and capability through on-going training as provided by the company
- Undertake other projects as designated by direct supervisor
