Job Requirements
- Experience in incident management and investigations
- Experience with OSHA record keeping, reporting and Method of Procedure (MOP) writing
- Experience in job hazard and safety analysis within the transmission and distribution industry
- Experience in the field of transmission and distribution line construction
- Management experience within a safety role
- Safety or related technical undergraduate degree (such as CSP or other)
- Safety related credentials (e.g., OSHA 501, OTI certifications, CUSP, CHST, etc.)
- Effective communicator
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Valid driver’s license
- OSHA/DOT related experience
- OSHA 10, 30, and 500 (Train the Trainer) Certified

- Experience with OSHA VPP is a plus
Job Duties
- Manage on-going safety program
- Work with Operations to ensure proper safety staffing
- Verify fieldwork compliance with federal, state and local regulations, company policy, and industry best practices
- Audit and provide meaningful feedback, leadership, and guidance to direct reports
- Provide mentorship and growth opportunities for safety specialists
- Coordinate cross-training and conduct training as necessary
- Assist management with methods to improve safety practices and procedures
- Conduct and report on advance notice and no-notice inspections, surveys, and evaluations
- Receive, review, and participate with the development of accident briefs, safety-related publications, bulletins, and reports
- Provide technical and professional assistance to eliminate or control unsafe behavior and environmental factors
- Provide progress reports on safety activities, safety reports, and safety studies
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
- Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
- Other duties as assigned
