Job Requirements

  • Associates and/or bachelor’s degree in related field and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • minimum of 5 years of experience in safety and/or security of a business
  • work experience implementing safety programs in fleet or operations environment
  • proficient PC skills using MS Office and other computer programs including presentation software
  • must have results-oriented professional verbal and written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion

Job Duties

  • Identify local operations and sales leaders for the local safety committee in the state
  • train each team member on safety responsibility
  • conduct monthly safety committee meetings
  • coordinate and conduct monthly safety meetings for each division
  • create process to assign safety training programs to the state for DOT and OSHA compliance
  • create, manage, and monitor security policies and procedures
  • work as a liaison with federal, state and local law enforcement and emergency services
  • investigate, document and maintain record of all incidents as it relates to security
  • administer and maintain security badge and entry systems for the properties
  • file and manage workers compensation claims for the state
  • conduct accident investigations
  • keep a current OSHA 300 log and file the OSHA 300A report
  • partner with insurance adjusters, HR and legal to reduce financial impact of claims and return associates to work
  • conduct quarterly reviews with insurance vendor
  • file vehicle and property damage claims with insurance company for company vehicles and buildings
  • coordinate insurance liability program in the state to ensure appropriate coverage
  • monitor motor vehicle records of associates in driving positions
  • educate transportation leaders on DOT reporting requirements and ensure systems are in place for DOT compliance
  • implement processes to comply with annual OSHA training requirements
  • partner with leaders on OSHA investigations and respond to OSHA requests
  • conduct quarterly warehouse inspections and plan corrective actions
  • create a first responder program including CPR and first aid classes
