Job Requirements
- Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in related field or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in safety and security of a business
- Experience implementing safety programs in fleet or operations environment
- Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other computer programs including presentation software
- Must be results-oriented with verbal and written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion
- Ability to multi-task, work independently or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
- Strong analytic and reporting skills
- Utilize sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume team environment
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in safety or security within a business or fleet operations environment
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office and presentation software
- Effective verbal and written communication skills demonstrating diplomacy and discretion
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task and work independently or within a team
- Strong analytic and reporting capabilities
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and high-volume team environment
Job Duties
- Identify local operations and sales leaders for the local safety committee in the state
- Train each team member on safety responsibility
- Conduct monthly safety committee meetings
- Coordinate and conduct monthly safety meetings for each division
- Create process to assign safety training programs to the state for DOT and OSHA compliance
- Create, manage, and monitor security policies and procedures
- Work as a liaison with Federal, State and local law enforcement and emergency services
- Investigate, document and maintain record of all security incidents
- Administer and maintain security badge and entry systems for the properties
- File and manage workers compensation claims for the state
- Conduct accident investigations
- Keep a current OSHA 300 log throughout the year
- File the OSHA 300A report for each house at end of year
- Partner with WC insurance adjusters, HR, Legal to reduce financial impact of claims and return associates to work
- Conduct quarterly reviews with the insurance vendor
- File vehicle claims with insurance company for accidents with company vehicles
- Conduct accident investigations for vehicle incidents
- Coordinate insurance liability program to ensure coverage for associates in driving positions
- Monitor MVR records of associates in driving positions for violations
- File property damage claims for company buildings and surrounding property
- Educate transportation leaders on DOT reporting requirements and ensure systems for DOT compliance
- Conduct monthly review to assess DOT audit risk and implement corrective plans
- Monitor Green Roads program and address unacceptable driving
- Implement processes for annual OSHA training requirements
- Partner with leaders on OSHA investigations and respond to OSHA requests
- Conduct quarterly warehouse inspections and plan corrective actions
- Create first responder program with CPR and first aid classes, register for safety webinars
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
