Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Five years of experience with a safety or risk management program
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Five years of experience with a safety or risk management program
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License
- Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, training, and personnel management
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local safety laws including OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of Safety Management System Principles and risk management methodologies
- Skill in using Microsoft Office software
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to interpret safety regulations and standards
- Ability to develop and evaluate administrative policies and procedures
Job Duties
- Manage the professional development and workflow of safety staff
- Coordinate staff efforts in performing safety assessments, investigations, inspections, safety training and various safety efforts city-wide
- Establish and develop safety targets and objectives, recommending safety goals, trends, statistics and equipment
- Coordinate and manage receipt of Police Crash Reports, Commercial Insurance Property Survey schedules and Corrective Action/Preventable Action (CAPA) Program
- Provide oversight on Accident and Injury Review Board (ARB) data and processes
- Develop training programs for staff competency and professional knowledge
- Conduct reviews and audits of Safety Division processes and procedures for adherence and industry best practices
- Prepare, communicate and present safety information, trends, statistics and program developments to Department Directors
- Interview, select, supervise, develop, evaluate, counsel and discipline personnel according to established policies and procedures
