Job Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and productively with others
  • Ability to manage safety personnel on projects
  • Good understanding of OSHA regulations for mission critical projects
  • Experience with National Electrical Code NFPA 70E
  • Experience in mission critical environment and industry standards
  • Knowledge of control of hazardous energy in complex infrastructures
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and documentation
  • Good knowledge of workers’ compensation and claims management
  • Experience with contractor management databases
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Good written communication skills
  • Bilingual Spanish and English a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Self-starter and proactive approach
  • Board-certified safety credential from recognized organization
  • OSHA 500 certification
  • Full-time construction safety management experience of six years
  • First Aid - CPR AED certification
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred
  • Ability to temporarily relocate to project location

Job Qualifications

  • Board-certified safety credentials such as CSP, GSP, CIH, ASP, CHST
  • Minimum 3-5 years construction safety management experience
  • OSHA 500 certification
  • First Aid - CPR AED certification from nationally recognized organization
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational safety and health, risk management, electrical engineering, or related field preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of OSHA regulations related to mission critical projects
  • Experience with National Electrical Code NFPA 70E compliance
  • Strong understanding of control of hazardous energy in complex infrastructures
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and documentation including blueprints and electrical one-lines
  • Good working knowledge of workers’ compensation and claims management
  • Experience with contractor management databases such as ISN and Avetta
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Leadership skills in managing safety personnel and project teams
  • Self-starter with initiative to develop innovative safety solutions
  • Bilingual Spanish and English a plus

Job Duties

  • Interface closely with General Superintendent and Field Managers to lead safety programs on mission critical campus
  • Serve as technical advisor to safety professionals, field supervision, and subcontractors
  • Contribute to safety and health program design, management, and continuous improvement
  • Monitor campus construction activities for compliance with regulatory rules and laws
  • Assist with safety training curriculum development and delivery
  • Support Energy Marshall to ensure compliance with Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) program
  • Drive rigor and consistency in LOTO procedures across campus
  • Coordinate with engineering and subcontractor teams to establish centralized LOTO procedures
  • Communicate potential LOTO impacts to data center operations
  • Participate in high-risk activity planning meetings
  • Review high-risk statements of work, standard operating procedures, and methods of procedures
  • Verify qualifications, training, and PPE compliance for personnel
  • Investigate serious accidents and analyze data to develop preventive measures
  • Support investigation of accident and near miss root causes
  • Assist in claims management including workers' compensation and liability
  • Report claims to Claims Administrator and Safety Directors
  • Coordinate return-to-work and light-duty job descriptions
  • Maintain statistical accident data and prepare regulatory reports
  • Develop and disseminate safety training and program materials
  • Compile safety performance, accident cost, and OSHA fine reports
  • Participate in safety committees and conduct program evaluations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections with project leadership
  • Provide safety training and technical support on mission critical projects
  • Implement drug and alcohol testing programs
  • Administer medical treatment facilities for injured workers
  • Interface with OSHA during inspections and compliance
  • Coordinate OSHA consultation visits and citation meetings
