Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- five years of experience with a safety or risk management program
- valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License
- ability to perform all the physical requirements of the position, with or without accommodations
- ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a timely manner
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, vendors, government agencies, employees, and the public
- willingness to work in office and outdoor environments
- eligibility to undergo pre-employment drug testing and background checks
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- five years of experience with a safety or risk management program
- valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License
- knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, training, and personnel management
- knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws related to safety, transportation, workers' compensation, liability, and OSHA regulations
- knowledge of Safety Management System Principles and risk management methodologies
- knowledge of accident prevention principles, practices, and procedures
- knowledge of budget preparation and monitoring techniques
- skill in using Microsoft Office software applications
- skill in operating vehicles and safety testing/monitoring equipment
- ability to interpret safety regulations and standards
- ability to develop and evaluate administrative policies and procedures
- ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of people
Job Duties
- Manage the professional development and workflow of safety staff
- coordinate staff efforts in performing safety assessments, investigations, inspections, and safety training
- establish and develop safety targets and objectives
- coordinate and manage receipt of Police Crash Reports, Commercial Insurance Property Survey schedules, and Corrective Action/Preventable Action (CAPA) Program
- provide oversight on Accident and Injury Review Board (ARB) data and processes
- develop training programs to sustain staff industry competency and professional knowledge
- prepare, communicate and present safety information, trends, statistics, assessments, and program developments to Department Directors
