Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or above certification
- OSHA 500 Certified Trainer
- minimum eight years of construction safety experience
- supervisory experience required
- knowledge of OSHA, Hazmat, crane safety, excavation safety
- proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- experienced in industrial safety or related field preferred
- current HAZWOPER 40-hour training preferred
- asbestos and lead training preferred
- current OSHA 30-hour construction safety training preferred
- valid driver license
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field such as engineering, safety, health sciences, or risk management
- construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or higher certification such as ASP or CSP from BCSP
- OSHA 500 certified trainer
- typically eight years of related construction safety experience
- supervisory experience
- knowledge of construction safety laws including OSHA, Hazmat, crane safety, and excavation safety
- proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- experience in industrial safety, occupational safety and health, or industrial hygiene preferred
- current HAZWOPER 40-hour training preferred
- asbestos and lead training preferred
- current OSHA 30-hour construction safety training preferred
- valid driver license
Job Duties
- Conduct quarterly safety meetings and monthly operations safety meetings
- participate in developing and administering safety incentives
- confer with attorneys regarding liability cases
- perform safety audits of operations to reduce occupational safety risks and ensure compliance
- implement and manage Injury/Illness Prevention Program
- conduct regular safety inspections of projects including facilities and equipment
- report safety findings to management and recommend changes
- train, motivate, counsel and monitor performance of Site Safety Managers and assigned staff
- prepare monthly, quarterly and annual safety reports
- serve as safety resource providing consultation and technical assistance
- coordinate and deliver on-site safety training
- monitor substance abuse programs
- ensure realistic and revisited project safety goals
- develop safety leadership and communication among owners, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and team
- manage problem prevention strategies
- facilitate substance abuse testing and medical clinic setups
- lead return to work program facilitation
- liaise with workers' compensation reporting and case management
- facilitate mass safety meetings and weekly tailgate meetings
- compile safety meeting materials and record minutes
