Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Five plus years of experience in a related transportation industry
  • One year accident and injury free driving experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Experience in teaching, instructing or public speaking
  • Computer proficiency

Job Duties

  • Ensure all safety manuals, programs, policies and practices are current and meet division needs
  • Serve as expert in EPA and OSHA, CDL compliance and regulations
  • Ensure all new hires meet minimum qualifications including background and DMV checks
  • Utilize safety technology tools to analyze results, identify trends and develop prevention plans
  • Oversee corporate safety incentives and programs, including assignment of safety points
  • Promote a consistent safety culture integrating operations, safety, and maintenance departments
  • Manage successful completion of audits by corporate, client, and regulatory agencies
  • Lead safety training programs covering vehicle operation, defensive driving, passenger handling, emergency procedures, communications, and sensitivity
  • Review all vehicular, passenger and employee incidents for cause and prevention
  • Provide expertise in hiring safety department exempt employees
  • Maintain and update project training materials and supplies
