Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health, or related field or equivalent experience
- 10 plus years of experience in occupational safety in electrical, mechanical, or construction industries
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910 and OSHA 1926 standards
- Experience in writing and implementing safety policies
- Ability to train and motivate field teams
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel 25 to 40 percent throughout Texas and surrounding states
Job Qualifications
- 10 plus years of experience in occupational safety, preferably in the Electrical, Mechanical, or construction industries
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field or equivalent experience
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910 (General Industry) and OSHA 1926 (Construction) standards
- Experience writing and implementing safety policies and procedures
- Proven ability to train and motivate field teams on safety best practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and report-writing skills
- Willingness to travel throughout Texas and surrounding states (approx. 25-40 percent travel)
- Certifications preferred: OSHA 500, CHST, CSP, or equivalent
Job Duties
- Develop, update, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company standards
- Conduct site safety inspections and hazard assessments at generator installation and service sites
- Lead incident investigations and prepare corrective action plans
- Facilitate and document safety training sessions for Mechanical and Electrical technicians including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash and Electrical PPE, Working at Heights, Rigging and Lifting Safety, Hazard Communication (HAZCOM), Jobsite and facility Emergency Procedures
- Maintain all safety records, audits, and training documentation
- Serve as primary contact for OSHA inspections and external safety audits
- Partner with operations and project managers to ensure job-specific safety plans are developed and followed
- Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Safe Work Permits
- Coordinate new-hire site specific orientations and ongoing employee safety development
- Lead monthly safety meetings and toolbox talk programs
- Track and analyze safety metrics and trends, identifying areas for continuous improvement
