Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 5 plus years experience managing safety on large construction projects
- OSHA 500 certification
- Ability to travel or relocate full-time
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse construction teams
Job Qualifications
- 5 plus years experience managing safety efforts on large healthcare commercial civil industrial mission critical or similar construction projects
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- OSHA 500 certification
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Ability to manage and administer safety orientations oversee substance abuse programs investigate report on injuries illnesses near misses and perform other safety functions on-site
- Ability to work with all construction groups including management owners trades and subcontractors
- Excellent communication organizational decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel or relocate full-time
Job Duties
- Monitor and discuss safety programs with on-site subcontractors and McCarthy employees ensuring safety is part of the culture and that new hires have proper safety documents
- Conduct documented safety and health inspections at least twice per month coordinating compliance reports with the insurance company
- Coordinate with project supervision to ensure necessary protective equipment and safety materials are used adequate first aid materials are available and safety documents are posted on-site
- Investigate all injuries review accident reports coordinate corrective measures with employees and log injuries for OSHA purposes
- Minimize construction hazards and enforce safety policies using the company disciplinary policy
- Conduct and coordinate weekly project safety toolbox meetings with all employees
- Record and forward copies of all safety related meetings programs inspections correspondence directives and citations to the Regional Safety Director for tracking
