Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of direct construction safety experience
- General contractor experience preferred
- OSHA 510 and/or 500 certification a plus
- CHST or CSP certification preferred
- Thorough knowledge of safety rules and regulations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing, crouching, lifting up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work inside and outside
- Ability to handle emergency situations independently
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferred
- 5+ years of direct construction safety experience, preferred
- General contractor experience, preferred
- OSHA 510 and/or 500 a plus
- CHST or CSP preferred
- Thorough understanding of all relevant safety rules and regulations
- Advanced knowledge of construction safety standards
- Exceptional leadership skills with ability to motivate employees
- Ability to explain and defend safety programs with diplomacy
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills and ability to coach and train others
Job Duties
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards
- Organize and lead safety training sessions for construction staff
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify their causes and find ways to prevent them in the future
- Assist coordinators in document control and development
- Oversee all aspects of a construction project ensuring OSHA compliance
- Oversee all subcontractors and contractors
- Update corporate and site specific EHS dashboards
- Oversee all EHS metrics and send out reports on a routine basis
