Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management, occupational health, aviation management, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in safety management or a related role
  • Knowledge of aviation safety regulations and best practices
  • Strong understanding of emergency response and preparedness
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and improve safety protocols
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized
  • Capable of leading safety committees and safety training
  • Willingness to travel for site inspections

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in safety management preferably within aviation or a related industry
  • Strong knowledge of safety laws, regulations, and standards
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to conduct safety audits, investigations, and inspections
  • Experience in emergency preparedness planning
  • Ability to maintain and update safety documentation
  • Leadership experience including chairing safety committees
  • Proficiency in tracking compliance and certifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams

Job Duties

  • Oversee all company safety matters in air and on ground
  • Maintain the safety program, reporting system, and investigate all incidents
  • Manage the emergency readiness plan and aircraft emergency provisions
  • Keep management updated on laws, regulations, standards, and IRPs
  • Distribute safety publications and produce safety notifications and promotions
  • Maintain safety manuals, forms, reports, and all safety documentation
  • Assist managers with safety requirements, research, and program support
  • Conduct safety audits and workplace inspections and submit required reports
  • Track worker evaluations, inspections, and certifications for compliance
  • Schedule workers for recertification before training expiration dates
  • Ensure PPE and all safety equipment are stocked and maintained
  • Review SOPs and recommend improvements to enhance safety
  • Chair the Safety Committee and ensure regular meetings occur
  • Represent the company with external safety organizations and agencies
  • Represent the company during external safety audits and inspections
  • Coordinate with the DOM on all flight safety requirements
  • Verify maintenance facilities and equipment meet required standards
  • Conduct site visits to review site and flight safety practices
  • Assess customer-provided safety facilities for operational suitability
