Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in health and safety, engineering, or related field preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in health and safety within manufacturing, preferably chemical or food industry
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial chemical processes
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety training
- Willingness to perform regular plant field visits with personal protective equipment
- Capable of leading safety teams and incident investigation
- Commitment to promoting safety culture across organization
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably chemical or food industry
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial chemical processes
Job Duties
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures
- Develop and execute training programs for managers and employees on workplace safety, fire prevention, and chemical handling
- Ensure site-wide compliance with OSHA regulations including recordkeeping and safety audits
- Lead weekly safety meetings and coordinate Environmental, Health, and Safety training and communications
- Conduct regular risk assessments, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on implementations
- Spearhead root cause analysis investigations for incidents, injuries, and near misses
- Collaborate with the Corporate Environmental Department on environmental initiatives
- Manage incident reporting and workers' compensation claims
- Champion Process Safety Management practices including mechanical integrity and pre-startup safety reviews
- Perform routine job skills analysis and safety task assessments
- Demonstrate and promote management's commitment to safety
- Manage and mentor one safety professional fostering their development
