Job Requirements

  • 5-10 years of health, safety & environmental experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 5 years as an EHS Manager or in a proven EHS leadership position
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations including OSHA and local requirements
  • Strong leadership skills including effective communications, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with all departments and levels of the organization
  • Problem solver and works well independently and in a team environment
  • Proven record of abilities to investigate all safety of work environment scenarios
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Extensive knowledge of standards, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in the industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters across the organization
  • Supervise, support, and mentor Safety Coordinators in daily operations, long-term initiatives, and personal development
  • Oversee all safety documentation, including job safety analysis, daily job site hazard analysis, and various compliance reports
  • Provide regular updates on safety performance, compliance, and initiatives to appropriate stakeholders
  • Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Ensure timely and accurate submissions to web-based compliance programs
  • Maintain accuracy and regulatory compliance of all OSHA-mandated injury and illness records as well as state and local environmental reporting
  • Lead regular site inspections to assess safety conditions and enforce compliance
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
  • Promote continuous improvement through safety drills and employee engagement
  • Conduct new hire and annual employee safety training
  • Lead planning and execution of safety stand down or one-point lessons
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information
  • Make recommendations on engineering and work practice controls to minimize hazards
  • Maintain a strategic mindset balancing short-term priorities with long-term safety goals
  • Act with integrity and professionalism
  • Perform other related duties to enhance safety department effectiveness
