Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the related field
  • Ability to pass federal background check
  • Clear driving record
  • Ability to work for a US employer without sponsorship
  • SMS certification preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in the aviation industry

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • SMS certification preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in the aviation industry
  • Proven working knowledge of Part 139, Advisory Circulars, FAA Orders, and other regulatory requirements
  • Exposure to Safety Management Systems, Safety, and Quality Assurance
  • Broad operational knowledge including training management, aircraft operations, air traffic management, aerodrome operations, and maintenance management
  • Sound knowledge of SMS principles and practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Analytical and leadership capabilities
  • Knowledge of aeronautical system, safety, and SMS processes
  • Experience with airport activities related to SMS scope

Job Duties

  • Provide information and advice to senior management on safety management system and safe operations
  • Interact with operational personnel, senior managers, and departmental heads throughout the organization
  • Foster positive relationships with regulatory authorities, agencies, tenants, and service providers
  • Make correct and timely decisions about safety issues
  • Communicate effectively in writing and orally
  • Relate to airport staff and stakeholders
  • Manage the airport's SMS software and update safety protocols as necessary
  • Act independently with minimal supervision
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
