Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the related field
- Ability to pass federal background check
- Clear driving record
- Ability to work for a US employer without sponsorship
- SMS certification preferred
- 3-5 years' experience in the aviation industry
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
- SMS certification preferred
- 3-5 years' experience in the aviation industry
- Proven working knowledge of Part 139, Advisory Circulars, FAA Orders, and other regulatory requirements
- Exposure to Safety Management Systems, Safety, and Quality Assurance
- Broad operational knowledge including training management, aircraft operations, air traffic management, aerodrome operations, and maintenance management
- Sound knowledge of SMS principles and practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Analytical and leadership capabilities
- Knowledge of aeronautical system, safety, and SMS processes
- Experience with airport activities related to SMS scope
Job Duties
- Provide information and advice to senior management on safety management system and safe operations
- Interact with operational personnel, senior managers, and departmental heads throughout the organization
- Foster positive relationships with regulatory authorities, agencies, tenants, and service providers
- Make correct and timely decisions about safety issues
- Communicate effectively in writing and orally
- Relate to airport staff and stakeholders
- Manage the airport's SMS software and update safety protocols as necessary
- Act independently with minimal supervision
- Perform additional duties as assigned
