Job Requirements

  • Six years of progressively responsible experience in safety and risk management
  • bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • state driver’s license in good standing
  • ability to operate vehicle on airport landside and airside with AOA permit
  • ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • ability to use computer hardware and office software
  • ability to perform detailed analyses of data
  • skill in written and oral communication

Job Qualifications

  • Six years of progressively responsible experience in safety and risk management
  • bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • knowledge of workplace safety problems, airport airside hazards and risks
  • ability to prepare and present written reports
  • knowledge of FAA Part 139 requirements and application
  • knowledge of legal precedent decisions applicable to aviation and industrial environments
  • knowledge of industrial, environmental, engineering, and construction safety and phasing programs
  • ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • ability to perform detailed data analyses
  • skill in written and oral communication
  • proficiency in computer hardware and office software including spreadsheets, databases, and risk management software
  • knowledge of basic statistics

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate the airport SMS with all Airports Authority departments and tenants
  • maintain compliance with 14 CFR Part 139 and FAA Advisory Circular AC 150/5200-37
  • conduct research and analysis of hazards and associated risks
  • develop policies and procedures and implement processes in support of the airport’s SMS
  • facilitate and conduct safety risk assessments of airport construction projects, special events, and operational policy improvements
  • manage a safety risk reporting system, investigate accidents/incidents, and recommend corrective actions
  • coordinate safety promotion initiatives and manage SMS training programs
  • track implementation of safety recommendations and corrective actions
  • prepare regular reports on SMS status, safety assessments, investigations, and training outcomes
  • develop, justify, and administer the SMS program budget
  • perform other duties as assigned
