Job Requirements

  • BS in Occupational Safety Management or Engineering
  • 10-15 years of safety leadership experience
  • CSP, CHST or equivalent certification
  • comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • capability to identify exposures and corrective actions
  • strong computer skills
  • ability to collaborate with multiple departments
  • excellent communication and leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred
  • BS in Occupational Safety Management or Engineering
  • 10-15 years of relevant safety leadership experience
  • CSP, CHST or other applicable certification required
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • comprehensive knowledge of construction safety principles and methods
  • comprehensive knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations and policies
  • strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite

Job Duties

  • Plan, develop and direct safety programs for divisions within responsibility
  • support and articulate company mission, vision and strategy
  • assist Corporate Safety Director in developing and implementing Safety Strategic Plan
  • provide support to improve safety program effectiveness and consistency
  • identify, create and deliver quality safety training
  • partner with business development to integrate safety with sales strategies
  • analyze safety data including incidents, accidents and claims
  • publish monthly safety reports
  • recommend hazard mitigation resources
  • collaborate on safety applications and analytics
  • meet regularly with executive and division leadership to support safety needs
  • visit key projects to mentor and ensure safety program consistency
  • establish subject matter expert subcommittees
  • research and introduce safety best practices
  • ensure qualified safety support staffing
  • collaborate with Human Resources on safety job family management
  • create and manage safety mentor program
  • collaborate on internal and external safety communications
  • support leadership presentations and statistical analysis
  • manage Safety Portal and Lessons Learned knowledge
  • update standard safety plans
  • conduct Incident and Injury Free training and safety education
  • update safety training modules
  • collaborate on insurance program implementation
  • review loss control inspections
  • coordinate regulatory citations and litigation responses
  • represent Gilbane in legal and regulatory matters
  • respond to client safety questionnaires and prequalification requests
  • represent Gilbane at client safety meetings
  • participate in national industry conferences and groups
  • pursue industry safety awards
  • assist in authoring industry presentations and publications
