Job Requirements

  • Associate or four-year college degree
  • one year safety and construction experience
  • OSHA 30 in Construction certification
  • First Aid/CPR certificate
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • proficient with Microsoft Office
  • ability to effectively communicate and conduct trainings
  • knowledge of company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards
  • willingness to travel 30 to 50 percent
  • ability to learn and complete safety training
  • bilingual in Spanish preferred

Job Duties

  • Ensures daily calendar is up to date
  • conducts daily safety meetings
  • attends bi-weekly all hands meetings
  • conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee/employer compliance with safety regulations
  • investigates incidents to discover root cause and works with safety manager when necessary
  • prepares new or updated Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans
  • prepares and enforces policies to establish a culture of safety
  • learns and uses software/systems to report, monitor, and correct safety problems
  • prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics
  • participates in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, compliance, and business efficiency
  • collaborates with OSHA representatives and internal safety staff during formal plant audits and inspections
  • documents corrective actions taken
  • completes monthly vehicle inspection reports
  • completes OSHA Academy courses and Safety Spanish courses if not bilingual
  • performs other related duties as assigned
