Job Requirements
- Associate or four-year college degree
- one year safety and construction experience
- OSHA 30 in Construction certification
- First Aid/CPR certificate
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- proficient with Microsoft Office
- ability to effectively communicate and conduct trainings
- knowledge of company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards
- willingness to travel 30 to 50 percent
- ability to learn and complete safety training
- bilingual in Spanish preferred

Job Duties
- Ensures daily calendar is up to date
- conducts daily safety meetings
- attends bi-weekly all hands meetings
- conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee/employer compliance with safety regulations
- investigates incidents to discover root cause and works with safety manager when necessary
- prepares new or updated Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans
- prepares and enforces policies to establish a culture of safety
- learns and uses software/systems to report, monitor, and correct safety problems
- prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics
- participates in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, compliance, and business efficiency
- collaborates with OSHA representatives and internal safety staff during formal plant audits and inspections
- documents corrective actions taken
- completes monthly vehicle inspection reports
- completes OSHA Academy courses and Safety Spanish courses if not bilingual
- performs other related duties as assigned
