Job Requirements

  • Associate or four-year college degree highly preferred
  • one year safety and construction experience
  • certifications including OSHA 30 in Construction and First Aid/CPR certificate
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • proficient with Microsoft Office
  • ability to effectively communicate and conduct trainings
  • knowledge of company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards
  • some travel required (30 to 50 percent)
  • bilingual in Spanish highly preferred

Job Duties

  • Ensures daily calendar is up to date
  • conducts daily safety meetings
  • attends bi-weekly all hands meetings
  • conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee and employer compliance with safety regulations
  • investigates incidents to discover root cause and works with a safety manager when necessary
  • prepares new or updated Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans
  • prepares and enforces policies to establish a culture of safety
  • learns and uses software and systems to report, monitor, and correct safety problems
  • prepares and schedules training on emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics
  • participates in continuous improvement initiatives
  • collaborates with OSHA representatives and internal safety staff during audits and inspections
  • documents corrective actions taken
  • completes monthly vehicle inspection reports
  • completes OSHA Academy courses and Safety Spanish courses if applicable
  • performs other related duties as assigned
