Job Requirements
- Five years work experience in construction safety
- First Aid/CPR certified
- OSHA 30 or 500 certificate
- EMS 385 1-1 Certificate
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
- CCHST or BCSP certifications
- Competent Person certifications in Fall Protection, Confined Space, Excavation, and Scaffolding
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to resolve safety concerns on projects
- Understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, OSHA standards and EM 385 1-1
- Flexible hours to meet project needs
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to pass security background screening for federal military base access

Job Duties
- Implementation and administration of project Accident Prevention Plan and applicable safety standards
- Assist in control of hazardous working conditions and activities through interface with project management team and subcontractors
- Conduct indoctrination to new workers and subcontractors
- Conduct briefings for visitors on project site activities and associated hazards ensuring PPE availability
- Communicate and collaborate daily with project management team and subcontractors
- Conduct daily safety inspections emphasizing continuous improvement and maintain deficiency tracking system
- Investigate all injury and property damage incidents and accidents identifying causes and lessons learned
- Develop Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) for identified work activities
- Conduct weekly safety meetings covering relevant safety topics
- Issue safety violations as warranted
- Participate and assist in emergency planning and evaluation
- Ensure safety equipment and PPE are in good working condition
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for products on job site
- Ensure job site safety postings are up to date
- Maintain professional certifications and current knowledge of all safety and health laws, standards, and regulations
- Pursue continued education in safety
- Provide additional on-site training when needed
- Encourage participation in safety programs
- Maintain safety and health related records and documents
- Maintain Employee Safety Certification database
- Perform additional assignments as needed
- Assist Barlovento’s Start Up team in developing safety plans for new projects
- Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors
- Guide and participate on Barlovento’s Safety Committee
- Willingness to travel
