Job Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12
  • Experience in occupational safety and environmental program management
  • Ability to lead and direct technical and administrative staff
  • Proven consultation skills in occupational health and safety
  • Compliance with federal safety and environmental standards
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • No mandatory education requirement

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-12 grade level
  • Experience administering occupational safety and environmental protection programs
  • Ability to provide technical and administrative supervision
  • Proven experience as a consultant for occupational health and safety matters
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with command and staff
  • Knowledge of federal safety and environmental regulations

Job Duties

  • Administer and direct comprehensive occupational safety, health and environmental protection programs
  • Evaluate and plan overall occupational safety and environmental initiatives
  • Organize activities and resources within the Occupational Safety and Health Office
  • Provide technical and administrative direction to personnel within the safety and environmental protection functions
  • Serve as the primary consultant and professional advisor for the Commanding Officer on safety, health and environmental issues
  • Implement policies and procedures that ensure regulatory compliance and workplace safety
  • Oversee the execution and continuous improvement of occupational health and safety standards
