Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in safety health industrial hygiene health or relevant field or associate degree in relevant field of study with two years' experience in related electric utility field operations or high school diploma/GED with four years in S&H administration field experience or related electric utility field operations experience
  • 2 years' experience in S&H or electric utility operations experience
  • valid driver's license
  • proficient oral and written skills
  • basic computer skills required
  • position involves daily travel and occasional overnight travel
  • ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and independence

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety health industrial hygiene health or relevant field
  • Associate degree in relevant field of study with two years' experience in related electric utility field operations
  • High school diploma/GED with four years in S&H administration field experience or related electric utility field operations experience
  • 2 years' experience in S&H or electric utility operations experience
  • Valid driver's license

Job Duties

  • Instruct advise and assist in carrying out the Company’s safety and health public safety and S&H event prevention programs policies and procedures
  • Prepare and advise on the use of programs and materials for meetings and conferences in S&H event prevention
  • Conduct observations of AEP personnel tools equipment and work practices to assure that safe and proper procedures are being observed
  • Advise and assist in S&H event analysis and serve as a resource to any event analysis committee
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal state and local regulations governing safety and health
  • Review and assist as needed with the location’s efforts to inspect contractors’ adherence to safety regulations
  • Promote and enforce the Company’s S&H event prevention and Safety and Health programs
