Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Six months experience in a medical or healthcare environment or 90 days training with patient transportation
- Strong work ethics and a positive pleasant attitude
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks to maximize efficiency and patient experience
- Ability to multitask and function in stressful situations
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Demonstrated skills in collaboration, teamwork and problem-solving
- Ability to frequently lift and reposition dependent or bariatric patients
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or push 300 pounds using appropriate equipment and body mechanics
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of people under stressful situations
- Must be able to perform transportation, lift and transfer duties safely and unsupervised
- Completion of in-house biohazardous items handling and other assigned training modules within 90 days of hire
- Must complete annual SPM training and comply with code of conduct and workplace policies
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation
Job Qualifications

- Excellent communication with public and staff
- Strong customer service experience
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and multitask in stressful situations
- Demonstrated skills in collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving
- Ability to frequently lift and reposition dependent or bariatric patients
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or push 300 pounds using proper equipment and body mechanics
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in English
- Must complete required training within 90 days of hire and annual training thereafter
- Preferred associates degree or EMT certificate
- Experience with safe patient mobilization devices and transport of patients and medical materials
Job Duties
- Rounds regularly to inpatient ICU floors and collaborates with clinical staff to assess patient needs
- Performs patient transfers or repositioning using appropriate lifting and transfer equipment
- Responds to patient falls and urgent situations in less than 15 minutes
- Responds to requests for patient lifts or transfers in less than 30 minutes and coordinates scheduling with clinical staff
- Transports patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, hospital beds, and morgue carts
- Transports medical equipment, mail, labs, blood products, and supplies within the hospital
- Operates elevators for patient and equipment movement and cleans and disinfects transportation medical equipment
