Job Requirements
- Six months experience living in an arctic environment
- Access to reliable transportation for occasional travel and ability to transport technicians and equipment
- Ability to work in cold weather conditions and tolerate temperature extremes
- Ability to safely move and handle equipment up to 70 pounds
- Physical agility to work on uneven and unstable surfaces
- Visual and auditory acuity to perform inspections and operate equipment
- Availability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency call-outs
- Ability to work well within a team and with diverse groups
- Willingness to provide after-hours emergency contact information
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months experience living in an arctic environment required
- Experience in electrical, construction, or maintenance preferred
- Experience with satellite telecommunication or microwave transport maintenance preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Telecom industry specific certifications or job-related certifications preferred
- Basic computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
Job Duties
- Conduct monthly maintenance inspections of sites to ensure security and equipment functionality
- Perform general housekeeping tasks such as brush clearing, trash removal, and facility cleaning
- Assist traveling employees and contractors with site access and general labor
- Remove snow from satellite dishes and fuel generators during power outages
- Report service outages, theft, damage, or weather-related incidents promptly
- Provide on-call technical support including remote assistance, troubleshooting, and equipment swaps
- Install wireless customer premise equipment including mounting devices and connecting to customer computers
