Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • minimum of two years experience in higher education, preferably community college
  • experience with student information systems and learning management systems
  • advising or counseling experience with high school and college students
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • ability to work independently
  • strong professionalism
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • ability to travel to service area schools
  • compliance with FERPA and Alabama Community College System policies
  • willingness to participate in professional development

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business, marketing, communication, or related field
  • two or more years of experience in higher education, preferably within a community college setting
  • experience using student information systems such as Banner or Ellucian and learning management systems
  • experience in advising or counseling high school and college students regarding academic pathways
  • strong work ethic and ability to work independently
  • high degree of workplace professionalism
  • ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • proficiency in the English language
  • competent use of Microsoft Office suite

Job Duties

  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • work closely with high school teachers, administrators, and parents to promote student success
  • contact high school students via classroom or group presentations, one-on-one sessions, and/or student organization meetings
  • conduct classroom presentations in area high schools, middle schools, and career centers
  • travel to service area schools and training sessions as required
  • collaboratively develop effective presentations and activities to facilitate dual enrollment
  • promote and recruit students for dual enrollment in the service area
  • evaluate program outcomes as required by the funding agent and develop plans for improvement
  • engage in strategic enrollment professional development and continuously monitor enrollment processes at the college
  • coordinate the dual enrollment program at local high schools
  • conduct orientation sessions for teachers about dual enrollment program policies and requirements
  • disseminate information to students, parents, and schools prior to registration periods
  • coordinate CVCC registrations at high schools, including admissions applications, approval forms, and registration processes
  • maintain proper files on dual enrollment and share information with teachers and college instructors
  • assist with recruiting activities, campus tours, Preview Day, and New Student Experience
  • refer prospective dual enrollment instructors to appropriate college officials
  • ensure accuracy of information about dual enrollment on college publications and website
  • develop dual enrollment literature for recruitment purposes
  • report Clery Act crimes as a Campus Security Authority
  • adhere to all college policies and procedures
  • maintain confidentiality
  • engage in continuous professional development
  • provide courteous service to students and staff
  • recruit and assist potential students
  • represent the college positively
  • participate in registration periods and graduation
  • serve on committees
  • assist with strategic and enrollment planning
  • perform other duties as assigned
