Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years or more of experience in quantity cooking and food preparation
- One year on the job training as assistant manager or kitchen leader unless experience and job warrant assignment
- Willingness to participate in District 70 Payroll Direct Deposit Program
- Completion of background check
- Ability to work 5.5 hours per day for 151 days annually
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferred associate or bachelor degree
- Food service safety certification
- Minimum of two years experience in quantity cooking and food preparation
- One year experience as assistant manager or kitchen leader or equivalent experience
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals to students
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist in managing food inventory and supplies
- Collaborate with Nutritional Service Department staff to ensure smooth meal service
- Follow safety and food handling protocols
- Provide a welcoming and warm atmosphere during meal service
