Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 plus years of bakery experience
  • Completion of company orientation, food safety, and sanitation training upon hire
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to interact with customers and stay attentive to their needs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently
  • Ability to perform postural tasks such as reach, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, stair climb, pivot, twist
  • Ability to occasionally work in wet, cold, hot conditions and loud noise
  • Demonstrated responsibility to never lift beyond own safe lifting limit

Job Qualifications

  • Bakery experience
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of computer systems and equipment such as PC, symbol, scales, label machine
  • Strong customer service skills

  • Planning and organizing skills

Job Duties

  • Provide superior customer service
  • Take orders from customers by telephone or in person
  • Answer customer questions regarding products
  • assist them with selections
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales
  • Apply proficient baking and frying skills including equipment set-up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance
  • Use production tools to plan baking and frying
  • Apply proper baking and frying techniques for each item
  • Plan for and break out proper amount of baked goods daily
  • Ensure quality control of all products before sending to sales floor
  • Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
  • Slice, package, label, and rotate products
  • Record production and shrink to aid in production planning
  • Clean and sanitize display cases
  • maintain production area according to SOPs
  • Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
  • Operate and maintain all equipment properly
