Job Requirements

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Possess a valid FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Rotorcraft-Helicopter and Instrument Helicopter endorsements
  • Hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
  • Have a minimum of 2,000 hours flying time as pilot in command in helicopters
  • Have at least 1,000 hours in turbine engine helicopters
  • Flight hours minimum of 100 within 24 months prior to application
  • Be willing to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and call-outs
  • Be able to operate in varying weather conditions
  • Be a resident of Arizona by the start date
  • Possess a valid Arizona driver license by the start date
  • Successfully complete examination process

Job Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Rotorcraft-Helicopter and Instrument Helicopter endorsements
  • Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
  • Minimum of 2,000 hours flying time as pilot in command in helicopters
  • At least 1,000 hours in turbine engine helicopters
  • Minimum 100 hours flight time within 24 months prior to application
  • High school graduate or GED
  • U.S. citizenship

Job Duties

  • Operate rotary wing aircraft in emergency medical evacuations
  • Conduct search and rescue missions
  • Perform law enforcement surveillance and aerial patrol
  • Execute specialized maneuvers including rappelling, one-skid landing, external load and short-haul operations
  • Plan and schedule flight missions
  • Inspect, test, and maintain aircraft and related mission equipment
  • Maintain flight logs, records, and prepare reports
  • Train pilots on safety and aviation procedures
  • Assist medical personnel at emergency scenes
  • Serve as acting supervisor in absence of senior pilot
