Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • relevant professional experience in guest services, front desk, or housekeeping
  • 2-year degree from accredited university in related field preferred
  • strong leadership abilities
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work full time at Courtyard by Marriott Boston Downtown
  • hands-on management approach
  • ability to analyze data and create improvement plans
  • commitment to maintaining hospitality standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 2 years experience in guest services or related area
  • strong leadership skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to analyze guest satisfaction data
  • proficiency in managing team schedules
  • knowledge of financial and sales reports
  • experience in hospitality or hotel management preferred
  • ability to provide excellent customer service
  • ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks

Job Duties

  • Ensures that goals related to guest tracking and productivity are communicated to the team
  • understands employee and guest satisfaction results and communicates plans to address needs
  • leads by example demonstrating confidence and enthusiasm
  • assists employees in understanding and exceeding guest expectations
  • follows property-specific second effort and recovery plans
  • publishes guest satisfaction results promptly
  • takes proactive approaches in addressing employee and guest concerns
  • extends professionalism and courtesy to employees and guests
  • communicates goal updates regularly
  • meets one-on-one with staff semiannually
  • assists and teaches team scheduling
  • performs hourly job functions as needed
  • provides excellent customer service and is approachable
  • responds timely to customer service requests
  • ensures team meets or exceeds hospitality standards
  • assists in annual quality audit
  • ensures key control program is maintained
  • understands financial and sales performance data
  • interviews and assists in hiring decisions
  • ensures thorough and timely orientation for new team members
